Introduction:
The Bowen Technique was developed by the late Tom Bowen of Geelong, Victoria. This hands-on body therapy consists of gentle rolling movements over muscle bellies and tendons. The Bowen Technique may be used immediately after undertaking the first module. Beginning students often achieve impressive results even with only basic skills. This is a testament to the effectiveness of the basic work, since consistency and increased effectiveness are gained through repetition and experience.
The BTAA International teaching system, introduced in 2002, consists of 7 x 2 day Modules. Each new module is designed to include review of previous material. This allows for increased retention and facilitates progression through Modules 1 to 7 in as little as six months. Additional requirements for full accreditation help to ensure competence and professionalism

The BTAA
(The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia)
While working alongside Mr. Bowen, and with Mr. Bowen’s direct input, Ossie Rentsch developed notes to preserve and accurately convey the work of Mr Bowen. Ossie has presented Mr. Bowen’s work in a structured, teachable format with highly effective, easy-to-learn sets of procedures that address a wide range of conditions throughout the body.
Registered BTAA Instructors review the coursework each year with Ossie and Elaine to ensure accuracy in teaching. It is the intent of the Academy to remain true to the original teachings of Tom Bowen. The Academy has taught well over 18,000 students worldwide.
